PLAYING EXPERIENCE

Tony started playing soccer at San Diego Mesa College. He played there two years the second as captain before accepting a scholarship to Point Loma Nazarene College. He was team captain both years and anchored a defense that still has two of the top ten lowest goals against averages in school history. Tony played for many years in the top amateur outdoor league in San Diego, and was a fixture in many of the indoor recreation leagues. Tony still plays indoor.

COACHING EXPERIENCE

Tony has been coaching off and on his whole adult life, while not coaching club teams he has been involved with coaching AYSO, youth indoor and school teams. He fell in love with the sport while watching the San Diego Sockers win the first of their ten indoor championships and has been addicted to it since. The fact that he is full blooded Italian probably factors into that somehow. He enjoys teaching the game to his players emphasizing technical proficiency and tactical awareness. He also believes that this is a game and therefore should first and foremost be fun.

• When I’m not coaching I like to: Hang out with my wife Stephanie, watch sports, Charger and Padre fan love Italian A league, fix things.
